UMM — Understanding Myself More

These terms explain the agreement between you and UMM when you use the app. We've kept them as plain as we can. By using UMM, you're agreeing to them — so if anything here doesn't sit right with you, please don't use UMM.
1. What UMM is
UMM is a self-discovery tool for adults who suspect, or have recently recognised, that they may be neurodivergent. You answer questions about how you experience the world, and UMM reflects back the patterns it recognises — a self-portrait you can read, keep, and, if you choose, take to a professional. UMM can also produce two written summaries: one for you, and one written to share with a clinician.
2. UMM is not medical advice or a diagnosis
This is the most important thing on this page, so we'll say it plainly: UMM does not diagnose anything, and it is not a medical service.
UMM helps you notice and put language to patterns in how you live and think. It is not a clinical assessment, it is not a substitute for advice, diagnosis, or care from a qualified professional, and a UMM self-portrait — including the clinician summary — is a starting point to take to a professional, not a finding in itself.
Always speak to a suitably qualified professional about any health concern. If you are in crisis or may be in danger, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line straight away.
3. Who can use UMM
UMM is for adults. You must be 18 or over to use it. By using UMM you confirm that you are.
4. The closed test
UMM is currently running as a free, invited closed test. That means:
- It costs nothing to use.
- It is a pre-release version that is still being refined, so features may change, pause, or be removed.
- We can't promise it will always be available, complete, or free of errors.
You're seeing UMM early, and we'd ask you to hold it lightly while it finds its feet.
5. Your account
UMM signs you in with a one-time link sent to your email address — there is no password. Because of that, keeping access to your email account secure is what keeps your UMM account secure: anyone who can read your email could request a sign-in link. Please let us know if you think someone else has gained access to your account.
6. Your information
How we handle your information — including the things you tell UMM about yourself — is explained in our Privacy Policy. By using UMM, you also agree to that policy. The short version is that what you record in UMM is yours.
7. Using UMM fairly
UMM is here for your own personal self-understanding. Please don't:
- use it for any unlawful purpose, or to harm yourself or others;
- try to disrupt, break, scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the app or work around its limits;
- resell it or use it commercially without our permission.
8. Support resources and external links
UMM points you towards external organisations and support resources, including crisis lines. These are offered for information only. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, and listing them isn't an endorsement. In an emergency, always contact your local emergency services.
9. Our content
UMM — its software, design, words, and the way it recognises and describes patterns — belongs to us, and is protected by intellectual-property law. You're given a personal, limited, non-transferable permission to use it for yourself. What you put into UMM, and the self-portrait it builds for you, remain yours.
10. No warranties, and our liability
UMM is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, UMM. Nothing in these terms removes or limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be removed or limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as UMM develops. If we make a significant change we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where we reasonably can, let you know. Continuing to use UMM after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Ending your use of UMM
You can stop using UMM at any time. We may suspend or end your access if these terms are broken, or where we need to for legal, safety, or technical reasons.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts there. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
